Net Zero Logistics has adopted an AI-powered tool called Finmile to improve its delivery operations, aiming to reduce both fuel consumption and operational expenses. The system uses real-time data tracking to analyze traffic patterns, weather conditions, and delivery windows, then suggests the most efficient routes for drivers.
According to the company, the shift has already led to measurable gains. By avoiding congested roads and unnecessary detours, drivers are spending less time behind the wheel while completing more deliveries per shift. This cuts down on fuel use and lowers the fleet's overall carbon footprint, which aligns with Net Zero Logistics' broader sustainability goals.
The Finmile tool does not just map out routes. It also adapts on the fly. If a sudden road closure or a spike in demand occurs, the system recalculates and sends updated instructions to drivers in real time. That flexibility helps the company handle last-minute changes without sacrificing delivery speed.
Cost savings have been another clear benefit. With fewer miles driven and less idle time, the company reports lower maintenance costs and reduced fuel bills. While the exact figures were not disclosed, executives described the financial impact as significant enough to justify expanding the AI system to more vehicles in the coming months.
Net Zero Logistics plans to keep refining the technology, adding more data sources and training the AI to recognize even subtler patterns in delivery zones. The goal is to push efficiency further while keeping emissions as low as possible.
