This summer, I ventured to Portugal to experience the vibrant Afro Nation music festival. While the event itself was a whirlwind of energy and excitement, I found myself grappling with a sense of dissatisfaction regarding my overall travel experience. The festival was undoubtedly a highlight, showcasing incredible talent and a diverse array of musical acts, but I realized that my time was largely consumed by the festival's schedule.
As I reveled in the performances and the electric atmosphere, I felt a pang of regret for not having the opportunity to explore the beautiful country I had traveled so far to visit. The stunning landscapes, rich culture, and delicious cuisine of Portugal seemed to fade into the background as I focused on the festival.
In hindsight, I appreciate the memories created at Afro Nation but recognize that my travel approach needs to change. Balancing festival fun with cultural exploration is essential for a fulfilling journey.
