Republic Business Credit has closed on a new $2.75 million factoring facility for a national textile wholesaler, a move aimed at supporting the company's push into West Coast markets. The financing gives the wholesaler immediate working capital tied to its accounts receivable, which management says will be used to build out inventory and secure stronger vendor terms as it scales operations.
The textile sector has faced uneven demand over the past year, with many distributors caught between slow-paying retail customers and the need to keep deep stock on hand. Factoring offers a direct solution here, converting unpaid invoices into cash within days rather than waiting 30 to 60 days for settlement. For this wholesaler, the new line is less about survival and more about seizing growth, specifically funding a physical presence and sales team on the West Coast where the company sees untapped demand for its product lines.
Republic Business Credit structured the deal around the wholesaler's existing receivables base, with the facility sized to grow alongside the company's sales volume. The lender noted that the wholesaler's strong customer diversification and consistent order flow made the credit decision straightforward. This type of asset-based lending has become increasingly common among mid-sized distributors that lack the hard collateral required for traditional bank loans but carry healthy invoice books.
The funding arrives at a time when textile importers are also managing higher freight costs and shifting sourcing patterns. Having ready access to cash lets the wholesaler negotiate better per-unit pricing with mills and absorb short-term logistics hiccups without disrupting deliveries to its own retail clients. Republic Business Credit, which focuses on working capital solutions for manufacturers, importers, and service firms, said the facility closed on an expedited timeline to match the wholesaler's seasonal ordering cycle.
Financial terms beyond the facility size were not disclosed.
