La Tapatia Tortilleria Opens New Downtown Fresno Store
September 20, 2026 - 21:33
La Tapatia Tortilleria has opened a new retail store in Downtown Fresno, giving the company a fresh location after years of declining foot traffic at its former Belmont Avenue site.
The new shop offers the company's full line of tortillas, chips, salsas, and other products. It also provides more space for customers and easier access for people working or living in the downtown area.
The Belmont location had struggled since construction began on the California high speed rail project. Road closures and detours made it harder for regular customers to reach the store. Business dropped as drivers avoided the area, and the company eventually decided to move its retail operation rather than wait out the construction.
Company representatives said the downtown store is part of a long term plan to stay close to customers. The new site sits near offices, apartments, and event venues, which should bring steady traffic throughout the week.
La Tapatia has been a familiar name in the region for decades. The move keeps the brand visible while the rail project continues to reshape roads and neighborhoods in the Belmont area.
