A private business jet carrying nine people went down in a residential area of Florida on Sunday, bursting into a large fireball that destroyed homes and sent thick black smoke across the neighborhood.

The aircraft came down shortly after takeoff, according to officials, crashing into a suburban street where houses sit close together. Witnesses described a low-flying plane, an explosion, and then flames spreading quickly through the wreckage. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and worked for hours to contain the fire and search the debris.

All nine people on board were killed. No injuries on the ground have been confirmed so far, though several homes were damaged or destroyed. Residents nearby were evacuated as a precaution while firefighters battled the blaze and investigators secured the area.

The cause of the crash has not been determined. Federal aviation investigators are expected to examine the wreckage, flight records, and communication logs in the coming days. The plane's operator has not publicly commented.

Local officials expressed condolences to the families of the victims and thanked first responders. The neighborhood remains closed to traffic as the investigation continues.
