Carbondale businesses collaborate for a Halloween Costume Bar Crawl

Carbondale businesses collaborate for a Halloween Costume Bar Crawl

Twelve businesses in downtown Carbondale are putting competition aside to team up for a Halloween costume contest and bar crawl. The event is meant to revive the vibe and bring activity back to the city's downtown entertainment scene.

The crawl will take place on Halloween and invites participants to dress up while visiting the participating locations. Organizers hope the shared effort will draw more foot traffic to the area and give residents a reason to spend the evening downtown.

Prizes are part of the draw. The individual winner will receive a $10 gift card from each participating business. The winning team will receive a $15 gift card from each business. That means the top individual takes home a total of $120 in gift cards, and the top team collects $180.

The collaboration marks a shift for downtown businesses, which typically operate independently. By pooling resources and promoting a single event, the group aims to create a bigger draw than any one venue could manage alone. Participants can expect a festive atmosphere, costumed crowds and a chance to support local spots while celebrating the holiday.

The event is open to anyone ready to dress up and join the crawl.
